Baiyatai Township

Baiyatai township is located in the southwest mountainous area of Lingqiu, 35 kilometers away from the county seat. It borders on the East Henan town in the northeast, Duyu Township in the South and Hengjian Township in Fanshi County in the West. There are 16 administrative villages in the township, including baiyatai village, dongchangcheng village, Ranzhuang village, Guangou village, Xinzhuang village, Puxi village, paochi village, yanyunya village, guluhe village, nanzhangzhuang village, Litai village, laiwan village, Changgou village, Wangju village, wangcunpu village and doufangshi village.

Baiyatai township has 28 natural villages with a permanent population of 3938 (2017). It covers an area of 314000 mu, including 12438 mu of cultivated land, 3000 mu of converted farmland to forest land, 110000 mu of suitable forest land and 110000 mu of Mu Po. The township is high in the north and low in the south, with an altitude of 910-1500 meters, an average annual temperature of 7.5 ℃, a frost free period of 130-150 days, and an average annual rainfall of about 520mm.

Environment and agriculture

In the territory of mountains, ravines, climate is mild, water is sufficient. Ranzhuang river runs through the whole territory from north to South and flows into the Bohai Sea by Sanlou River and Daqing River. The main crops are corn, millet, yam, beans and so on. Grassland resources are relatively rich in the whole Township, and the development of animal husbandry has unique advantages. At present, there are more than 1209 large livestock in the township. Among them, there are more than 1195 yellow cattle, 15266 sheep, 914 pigs and 5593 chickens (the characteristic breeding of black chicken started in 2017, and now the scale is more than 4000). Breeding industry is the main channel of farmers' income.

Resources and development

The territory has convenient transportation and smooth communication. Jingyuan railway passes through the township, county road "63" line highway across the territory, there are three telecom, Unicom base stations. The township is rich in resources. First, there are large reserves of mine resources, many varieties and high grade. Only at present, there are gold, phosphorus, iron, feldspar, quartzite, kaolin, Wenxiang rock and other minerals. Second, there are many scenic spots with high grade and great influence. There are many famous red tourist attractions in Pingxingguan, such as the site of Pingxingguan grand victory, the memorial hall of Pingxingguan grand victory, the ancient battlefield of Qiaogou, the pass of Pingxingguan, the site of the great wall of Ming Dynasty, the monument of Pingxingguan grand victory and other red tourist attractions, as well as the ancient tourist attractions such as "Laoye Temple" and "Deng Fengzhi where pines and cypresses are not disordered". Third, the development of ecological resources has great potential and broad prospects. There are 110000 mu of barren hills suitable for forest and 110000 mu of grazing slopes in the township. At present, the coverage of forest and grass in pinggong reaches 24.29%. There are still a large number of barren hills and slopes to be developed and utilized. Fourth, based on labor resources, there is a vast space for the development of township government. At present, there are three iron concentrators in the township. For the two families under construction, there are only more than 2000 people engaged in transportation, mining, processing and repair every day, as well as a large number of surplus livestock labor. At the same time, due to the convenient resources, land, electricity, labor and transportation conditions, the development of township government has broad prospects.
