Yongchuan Town, belonging to Qishan County, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the middle of Qishan County, bordering Zaolin town in the East, caijiapo town in the south, Guowang town in Fengxiang County in the west, Yongshui River and Fengming town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 20 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 4.5 kilometers, with a total area of 61.42 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, it has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages. As of 2018, Yongchuan town had a population of 49940 registered residence. It is named for its location in Yongshui river.
Yuan belongs to Qifeng township.
The Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to yangsui township.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Yongchuan township was established.
In July 1949, Yongchuan District was established, with jurisdiction over 11 townships.
In March 1956, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and maiheying Township and Majiang Township were set up, with 82 villages under its jurisdiction.
In October 1958, the Red Star commune was set up; in December of the same year, it was subordinate to Fengxiang County, with maiheying management area and Majiang management area.
In September 1961, it was subordinate to Qishan County, with maiheying commune and Majiang commune, and 19 production teams under its jurisdiction.
In 1966, it was renamed Xianfeng commune and Yonghong commune respectively.
In 1969, the original name was restored.
In May 1984, it was changed into maiheying Township and Majiang Township, with jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages and 149 villager groups.
In August 1997, maiheying Township and Majiang Township were changed into towns.
In 2001, maiheying town and Majiang town merged to establish Yongchuan town.
In September 2005, qutou village was merged into Banta village, and zhitou village into maiheying village.
