Maiba Township

Maiba township is located in the east of the county. The township government is located in laiomloma, 37 kilometers away from the county government. It covers an area of 1402.7 square kilometers and has a population of 1566 (2017).

Shenzha County governs the township. It is located in the east of the county, adjacent to Shenzha town in the West and Bangor County in the East. There are 1566 permanent residents (2017). It has jurisdiction over five administrative villages. The township government and villagers are stationed in Yase village.

The township was established in 1961 and the commune was changed in 1972. In 1988, the former maiba Township and jiarao Township were merged into maiba township. In 1996, with a population of about 11000, it governed five administrative villages, namely nizhe, Nada, zaquduo, guomang and Luqu. The township government was stationed in omloma (including Naga, zaqiongquba, luoqu and Xinzha). In 2000, the permanent population of maiba township was 1180. In 2006, it has jurisdiction over five administrative villages: Xinzha, Dongre, zaqiongquba, guomang and luoqu.
