Nierong County governs the township. It is located in the Midwest of the county, adjacent to nierong town and Xiaqu Township in the South and Andou County in the West. The permanent population is 1983 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages. The township government and villagers are stationed in poor villages. The township was established in 1962 and the commune was changed in 1972. In 1987, the former sangrong Township and Chuqin Township were merged into sangrong township. In 1996, with a population of about 1500, it governs 12 administrative villages of Magu, bazabama, dokaba, genai, cacangjialong, mazaoma, duobo, longmasang, Jiaren, jiaguori, ChuGen and lamalong, and the township government is located in ChuGen Songgu. In 2000, there were 1601 permanent residents (in the fifth census).
