Gedang Township

In 1996, it governed 12 administrative villages, namely Gedang, Donglong, Xingkai, qunatang, NABA, shangbulong village, xiabulong village, zhagenka, nirika, kataideng, naisada and sangzhuka.
In 2013, it has jurisdiction over four administrative villages: Gedang village, sangzhenka village, zhangenka village and Bulong village.
In May 2016, Gedang village, sangzhenka village, zhangenka village and Bulong village were under the jurisdiction of the township, with a total of 11 natural villages.

The economy is dominated by agriculture and animal husbandry.
The main crops in Gedang township are highland barley, wheat, corn, Manjia, soybean and pepper, and the economic crops are pepper, apple, wild pear, Chinese prickly ash, etc.
In September 2007, the fifth batch of Tibetan aid cadres went deep into Gedang township to investigate and understand the local economic and social development and give guidance.
In 2007, a total of 2657 mu of crops were sown in the township, with a total crop yield of 532000 Jin; the utilized grassland area was 1600 mu; and the total number of livestock was 1839. The farmland of the township is mainly cultivated land, no slash and burn cultivation, through multiple cropping, interplanting and other ways to improve the land utilization rate.
The income sources of farmers and herdsmen in Gedang township are as follows: 1) transportation of mules and horses; 2) participation in project construction; 3) collecting and collecting medicinal materials for sale in Bomi; 4) exporting labor to dig Cordyceps to increase income.

The traffic of Gedang township is mainly from Gedang township to Damu Township in winter and from Gedang to Daxing Township in Bomi County in summer. In 2011, Dage highway (from Damu township to Gedang township) was opened to traffic.

On November 6, 2017, the new construction of Bulong to gasatang natural village highway in Gedang rural area started, with a total length of 1.088 km and a total investment of 3.289614 million yuan; the new construction of Bulong to nisatang natural village highway in Gedang rural area started, with a total length of 2.173 km and a total investment of 3.998208 million yuan. The two projects are built according to the technical standards of class IV Highway, with driving speed of 20 km / h and gravel pavement. The construction period is six months. On April 13, 2020, the passenger transport line from Motuo County to Gedang township will be officially opened through Madi village, Miri village, Damu Township, xianaba village, sangzhenka village and Gedang village.
Communication, radio and television infrastructure
In terms of TV broadcasting in Gedang Township, there are 12 village level TV single receiving stations, which can watch 1 or 2 sets of TV programs in Tibet, and township authorities can watch 4 sets of TV programs (all analog signals), greatly enriching the spiritual life of cadres and masses.
On December 7, 2008, China mobile communication base station was opened in Gedang Township, realizing the connection of mobile phones to the township.
