Historical evolution

Lajiu township was established in 1959, changed to commune in 1970, and restored to township in 1984.

It belongs to Dequ basin, a first-class tributary on the right bank of the middle reaches of Nujiang River. The largest river in the territory is Dequ. Most other rivers, such as zequ and Baqu, belong to Dequ tributaries.

In March 2019, the bid winning announcement of the governance project of duozequ (township government section) in lajiu township was issued. The construction contents include the construction of 4918m long flood dike, 17 steps to the river, and 6 drainage culverts. The planned investment is about 14 million yuan.

On August 28, 2020, the bidding notice for the construction of the highway from SAMA village to Yongyi natural village in lajiu township was issued, with a total length of about 4.1 km.

On December 2, 2020, the bid winning announcement of water supply project in Jiangyun village, lajiu township was issued, including 1 pumping station, 886m diversion pipeline, 1 800 M2 reservoir, 18 greenhouses, with a planned investment of more than 6 million yuan; the bid winning announcement of water diversion irrigation and flood dike project in sama village, lajiu township was issued, including 642m new flood dike, 600m reinforced gabion, 2.33km diversion pipeline, 1 reservoir, and reservoir It is planned to invest more than 10 million yuan.
