Xiasima town

Yadong County, Xigaze City, Tibet Autonomous Region of the people's Republic of China governs the town and is the seat of the county government. Under its jurisdiction, Sima neighborhood committee, Chunpei village and Zhuju village have one community and two administrative villages.

"Xiasima" is transliterated from Tibetan, meaning "swamp grassland in the East".

evolution

In 1888, after it was established as a commercial port, the Qing government set up the Yadong customs in xiasima. In 1906, the business agency set up by the British emperor in laoyadong (renqinggang Village) moved to xiasima Town, which became a British concession. During the period of the fall of the Qing Dynasty, the newly established national government was unable to look west because of the warlords' scuffle, and the British imperialists seized the jurisdiction over xiasima town in Yadong. After India's independence in 1947, it inherited the vested interests of British imperialism and still took xiasima town as its concession area. On April 11, 1955, the Chinese government and the Indian government officially signed and xiasimazhen was handed over to the Chinese government. In 1960, xiasima district was built. On July 6, 1964, with the approval of the reserve committee of the Tibet Autonomous Region, xiasima town was established.

History and culture

The streets of xiasima town are also the world of wood culture. There is only one street in the town. The wooden buildings on both sides of the street are carved and painted. Each family is exquisite. Upstairs, there is a balcony with carved fence, which reminds people of the opera house in old Beijing and the teahouse in Sichuan. In the past, most of the business people were passers-by, and the local people all depended on renting shops, so they could make a big profit. Nowadays, the business people are mainly from other places. The town with thousands of people also has dance halls, hair salons and fashion shops. In a big place, people have to go shopping in their spare time even if they don't buy things. The British Imperial post site is located on the back slope of Yadong county middle school. It was first built in 1936. The post became the only intact building left by the invaders on the land of Tibet. It is a historical witness of the invasion of Tibet in modern history.
