Jiacuo township is located in the northwest of Nanmulin County, Xigaze City, Tibet Autonomous Region, in the Jiacuo River Basin on the upper reaches of the Xianghe River, bounded by Nanmulin Town, Dana County, pudang county and Xietongmen county. The township government is located in guola village, 32 kilometers away from the county seat. The government building covers an area of 889.13 square meters. The township has an area of 370 square kilometers, 6942.7 mu of arable land, 50000 mu of grassland, and a population of 4626 people in 669 households.

"Jiacuo" means "the sea" in Tibetan. It used to be called "Jiacuo" and "Jiangcuo". When the gaxia government of Tibet in the Qing Dynasty set up a suzerain government here, it was called jiacuozong. In 1960, the people's government was established under the jurisdiction of Jiacuo district. In 1988, Jiacuo Township directly under the leadership of the county government was formed by the merger of Jiacuo Township, Tangba Township, Laya Township, guola Township and Zexu Township in the former Jiacuo district. In 2000, there were 11 village committees in Jiacuo Township, including guola, tangbaxue, Zha, zangye, zega, Gongba, Zha, Baijia, Laya, Lalong and jiacuoxue. Jiacuo Township, with an average altitude of 4390 meters, has a cold and dry climate and relatively less rainfall. However, due to the influence of the Jiacuo River Basin, the township is mainly agricultural production, with a small amount of development of animal husbandry and national handicraft industry. Over the years, according to the characteristics of more sloping land and less average land, Jiacuo township has vigorously developed farmland and water conservancy facilities, built 45310 meters of canals and 1366 mu of irrigated farmland, which has greatly changed the historical situation of "relying on nature for food" and strengthened agricultural infrastructure. In 2000, the total output of grain and oil in the township was 2754162 Jin, the number of livestock was 14125, the total income of rural economy was 4284352 yuan, and the per capita net income was 748.77 yuan. There is a complete primary school with a building area of 1699 square meters, 466 students and 87.94% of school-age children. There are township clinics, credit cooperatives, supply and marketing cooperatives, grain stations, terrestrial satellite TV receiving stations, film teams and other infrastructure services.
