Redang township is located in the middle of Nanmulin County, Shigatse City, Tibet Autonomous Region, adjacent to suojin, tubuga, Dana, Jiacuo, labupu and other townships. The township government is located in Shama village, 34 kilometers away from the county seat, with a government building area of 2100 square meters, a jurisdiction area of 463.51 square kilometers and a population of 8207 (2017). In 1960, the township government was established under the jurisdiction of Labu District People's government. In 1988, when the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, a separate township was established, which was composed of Redang Township, zongsha Township, laodui Township and gadian Township in the former Labu district.
