Located in the west of Yingjiang County, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, Xima town is an alpine mountain town on the border of the motherland. It is located between 97 ° 44 ′ 55 ″ - 97 ° 63 ′ 55 ″ east longitude and 24 ° 51 ′ 25 ″ - 25 ° 16 ′ 23 ″ north latitude. It borders Taiping Township in the southeast, Tongbiguan Township in the south, napang town in the west, Mengnong Township and Myanmar in the northwest, with a border line of 18.3 km. The town government is 55 kilometers away from the county seat and 206 kilometers away from the state capital. It has been the last exit passage of the "Silk Road" in the South since ancient times and is one of the main border ports of Yingjiang County.

The town has 3 village committees, 23 natural villages and 37 villager groups. The land area is 228.02 square kilometers (2017), including 20768 mu of cultivated land, 2.5 mu per capita; 178758 mu of forest land, with a forest coverage rate of 62.5%. The total population of the town is 13500 (2017), with Han, Lisu and Jingpo as the main ethnic groups.

More than 14000 people live in Japan, the United States, Thailand, Peiji, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. On November 9, 1990, they were named "hometown of overseas Chinese" by the people's Government of Dehong Prefecture.

The road extends to the nabang border port in the west, across the river from Myanmar, and to the county seat in the East. Those border ports are only 8 kilometers away from Stilwell highway in the union of Myanmar. Jushiguan site is one of the eight ancient passes in Southwest China in Ming Dynasty.

Xima township was built in 1950, Xima district was changed in 1955, later known as commune, and Xima township was rebuilt in 1988. In 1997, it covers an area of 274.91 square kilometers and has a population of 10000. Jingpo and Lisu ethnic groups account for 12.46% of the total population. There are 1020 returned overseas Chinese, 2132 family members of overseas Chinese and 8244 overseas Chinese living abroad in the township. It governs four administrative villages, namely Shengli, baobian, Tuanjie and nabang. In 2001, towns were set up instead of townships. At the end of 2004, the total population was 9317, including 8306 agricultural population.

With Mengnai River Hydropower as the main advantage, it can build 1-5 echelon hydropower stations.

It has basically formed a "six in one" health service system of medical treatment, prevention, health care, rehabilitation, health education and family planning guidance. in 2008, there were 10048 people who should participate in the cooperative medical system in the whole town, and the actual number was 10048, and the participation rate was 100%.
