Pingpo town is located in the east of Yangbi County, covering an area of 129.43 square kilometers. There are four administrative villages, 49 villager groups and 55 natural villages in pingpo, Xiangyang, Shiping and Gaofa. The total resident population of the town is 8836 (2017), and there are eight ethnic groups including Han, Yi, Bai and Lisu.
