Guanlei town

Guanlei Town, belonging to Mengla County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, is located on the border line in the northwest of Mengla County. The junction of the upper Mekong River is here. It is connected with Yao Township in Yao District in the East, Mengpeng town in the south, Laos and Myanmar across the river in the west, and Menglun town in the north. The regional border line is 74 km long and the territorial area is 981.06 square kilometers.

Guanlei town is a tropical and subtropical monsoon climate zone, with warm and humid air, four distinct seasons, no severe cold in winter and no severe heat in summer. The annual average temperature is 20 ℃, the maximum temperature is 35 ℃, the minimum temperature is 5 ℃, the rainfall is abundant, the average annual rainfall is 1500-1600 mm, and the sunshine duration is 1807 hours.

Guanlei town governs five villages with a permanent population of 27002 (2017). There are 13 ethnic groups, including Hani, Dai, Yao, Han, Zhuang, Yi and Miao. Evolution of organizational system

The original name of guanlei town "mamushu" was translated from Dai language, and later changed to mango tree (in Chinese). It was under the jurisdiction of Mengpeng in Banna in history, and the administrative divisions changed frequently in the future.

In 1971, Jiulong, mamushu and Mengyuan brigades were set up from Menglun commune, Mangang and Bahe brigades were set up from Mengpeng commune, and tengmishan and paozhuqing brigades were set up from Yao commune (now Yao township).

In 1984, it was renamed as mahushu district.

In 1987, the district was changed into a township, which is called mangoshu Hani township. It governs seven village offices, namely mangoshu, Jiulong, Bahe, Mengyuan, paozhuqing, Mangang and tengmishan.

In 1996, the township was called guanlei town.

In December 2003, the original Jiulong village, Jiulong village, Gongbing village, zhawang village and other villagers' groups were merged into tengmieshan village, and bajiazhai village was put under mangguoshu village management; the original paozhuqing village committee, paozhuqing village, qingshizhai village, pubuzhai village and other villagers' groups were merged into Mengyuan village.
