Xiaohuixiang is located in the northeast corner of Xinghualing District, Shouyang County in the East, Yingze District in the south, Xincheng town in Jiancaoping District in the west, and Yangqu County in the north. The terrain is high in the East and low in the West. It is located in Dongshan hilly area of Taiyuan city.

Geography

Xinghualing District of Taiyuan City (the former Northern Suburb) governs the township. Xiaohui commune was set up in 1958 and changed to township in 1984. Located in the northeast of the region, it covers an area of 55.64 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 8140 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 16 village committees including Xiaohui, Hougou, Dongping, Maiping, nanpingliang, yaotou, Shuigou, qianlijiashan, houlijiashan, Daliang, yejizhuang, liujiahe, yulinping, zhuangzishang, Jianhua and haonao.

Township enterprises are mainly coal enterprises. It produces apples.

Topography and transportation

Shihuangliang in the eastern part of the territory is 1637 meters above sea level, which is the highest ridge in Dongshan District. The terrain is from west to East, from gentle hills to hills, with the longest distance of 21 km from east to west and 5 km from north to south, with a height difference of 747 meters. The township government is located in Xiaohui village. There are Dongshan transit Expressway and Zhangxin highway crossing through the whole Township, which are combined with the village oil roads to form a network. 323 bus leads to yaotou village, which solves the problem of villagers' travel difficulty.

Regional scope

The total area of the township is 55.64 square kilometers, including 7419.6 mu of cultivated land, 7215 mu of orchard, 19581.65 mu of returning farmland to forest and 6500 mu of Tianbao forest. There are 12 administrative villages and 19 natural villages with a permanent population of 8140 (2017). One village (yaotou Village) has been listed in the provincial new rural construction pilot village, and 10 villages have been listed in the provincial new rural construction key villages, which has initially taken a new way of new rural construction.
