Pingzhou Town, formerly known as Pinghu Town, is a town under the jurisdiction of Pingtang County, Qiannan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is the political, economic, cultural, transportation, information and logistics center of the whole county. It is 35 kilometers away from guixinao highway, with convenient transportation, obvious location advantages, beautiful environment, pleasant scenery and mild climate, enjoying the reputation of "the most beautiful small city in China".

History of construction

On February 13, 2014, the people's Government of Guizhou Province approved the cancellation of Pinghu Town and named it Pingzhou town. The newly established Pingzhou town governs Pinghu Town, Miao Erhe Township, ganzhai Township and Bailong Township, and the people's Government of Pinghu Town is stationed in Yuchi community. on March 25, 2015, the Guizhou Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of the administrative division of Pingzhou Town, Pingtang county. After the adjustment, Pingzhou town governs 15 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Pingzhou town is located in modaoshi village.

By the end of 2013, after the adjustment of township administrative divisions, Pingzhou town was formed by the merger of Pinghu Town, Miao Erhe Township, Bailong Township and ganzhai Township, with a total area of 347.4 square kilometers and a cultivated area of 77565 mu. It has jurisdiction over 23 administrative villages, 2 communities and 325 villager groups. The town has a permanent population of 65723 and a floating population of 10534, inhabiting Han, Buyi, Maonan, Miao, Shui, Dong and other nationalities, Ethnic minorities account for more than 82% of the total population. Pingzhou town is located in the subtropical monsoon humid climate zone, the climate is pleasant, the four seasons are like spring, the annual average temperature is 17 ℃, the frost free period is 312 days, the annual average rainfall is 1803 mm. The vegetation in the area is well protected, the forest coverage rate is 51%, and the karst landform is typical, which makes the landscape beautiful and pleasant, and adds charming color to this loess land, which has great potential for tourism development.
Pingzhou developed agriculture, the main crops are rice, corn. Economic crops include tobacco, rape, Camellia oleifera, pepper, sorghum, vegetables, watermelon, peach, etc. In recent years, centering on the construction requirements of modern agricultural industrial park, relying on the advantages of location, climate and water source, a state-level agricultural industrial park has been established in Bailong district. At the same time, a red bayberry, hairy crab and pepper base has been built in Pinghu, and a "Shili Taoyuan" demonstration area has been established in miao'er river.
The main mineral resources are coal mine and shale. There are two legal coal mines (Ping'an Coal Mine and Yuancheng coal mine). The coal mine was built in 2010, with an approved annual production capacity of 150000 tons. Other natural resources are abundant.
Pingzhou industry is developing rapidly. The annual output of Chongqing Guizhou building materials is 60 million pieces of new environmental protection "sintered self insulation hollow brick" project has been completed and put into operation. The first phase of 15000 square meters standardized plant of sankeshu labor intensive Park was completed at the end of April 2013. The Yuanyu garment factory in Pingtang County, Guizhou Province, which was settled in advance, can realize an annual output value of more than 50 million yuan after it is put into operation.
The private economy has developed rapidly. In addition to the completion and operation of lulongjun brick factory, two new brick factories have been built in modaoshi village, namely Pingtang county environmental protection mechanism red brick factory, with an investment of 9.5 million yuan. It is expected to be completed and put into operation in June, with an annual tax of more than 800000 yuan, Laozhai brick factory with an investment of 28 million yuan and an annual tax of 2 million yuan.
There are 2 ordinary high schools, 1 vocational middle school, 3 ordinary middle schools, 16 primary schools, 10 kindergartens (including 5 public and 5 private) and 16 village clinics in the town.
In recent years, Pingzhou town has vigorously promoted the construction of urbanization. A large number of key projects, such as the first phase project of Nanzhou Avenue, the upgrading and reconstruction of urban roads, Pinghu middle school, No.3 middle school, four-star hotel of Longbo Tianyi, and new bus station, have been constructed. The urban infrastructure and urban functions have been continuously improved, and people's living standards have been significantly improved.
