Liuchuan Town, belonging to Jianhe County, Guizhou Province, is located in the northwest of Jianhe County, where Miao, Han, Dong, Shui and other nationalities live together. The forest coverage rate of the whole town is 64%, and the forest resources are rich. The main crops are rice, potato, sweet potato, soybean, rape, peanut, vegetables and other crops; the breeding products are cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, fish and so on.

General situation of villages and towns

Liuchuan town is located in the northwest of Jianhe County, Guizhou Province, adjacent to Nanzhai Township in the East, pingtaijiang County in the west, Guanmo Township in the northeast, Nanshao Township in the southeast, Jiuyang Township in the southeast, and censong town in the northwest. It is 18 kilometers away from the county. The total population is 8101 households with 31550 people (at the end of 2003), including 4600 households with 20135 people in agriculture. Miao, Han, Dong, Shui and other nationalities live together, accounting for 65.75%, 24.1%, 5.65% and 4.5% of the total population respectively. In addition to roads connecting Taijiang River, Sansui direction and other towns in the town center, 15 villages out of 30 have access to roads. With the construction of Sanbanxi Hydropower Station, 14 villages in the town are under the inundation line (475m above sea level) of the reservoir area (immigrants will be relocated), so the water traffic will be more convenient in the future. Qingshuijiang bridge, which connects north and south, is a famous and rare cantilever bridge in China. In Liuchuan Town, 30 villages have electricity, closed-circuit television and tap water, and 19 villages have program-controlled telephone. The unique enterprises in the town include yangasha mineral water plant, Jianbai fragrant pig processing plant, Miaoling snake medicine distillery, etc. The construction of Sanbanxi Hydropower Station has brought opportunities and challenges to the construction of Liuchuan town.
