Located in the west of Shenzhou, it is on the east side of Bao Heng Road, south of Shihuang expressway, 307 National Road, West to Xinji, north to Bing Cao Township, and the area is 42.16 square kilometers. Up to 2018, the registered residence population was 31254.
In 1948, it was the residence of 15 districts in Shen county. In 1949, it was the second district resident. In 1958, it belonged to Chengguan commune. In 1961, Mu village commune was established. In 1984, it was changed to Mu village. As of June 2020, Mu village has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 9 industrial enterprises in Mucun Township, including 2 above scale and 39 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

In 1948, it was the residence of 15 districts in Shen county.
In 1949, it was the second district resident.
In 1953, it was divided into four townships, Mu village, Ba Gong, Nan he le Temple (now Nankou) and Ma Zhuang, belonging to two districts.
In 1956, Mu village, Ba Gong and Nan he le Si were merged into Mu village, while Ma Zhuang was merged into Du Jia Zhuang.
In 1958, it belonged to Chengguan commune.
In 1961, Mu village commune was established.
In 1984, it was changed to Mu village.
