Banchang town

Banchang town (formerly Banchang township) is a town under the jurisdiction of Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County, Tongren City, Guizhou Province. It is located on the West Bank of Wujiang River in the southwest of the county, 22 kilometers away from the county. It borders Qitan town in the East, Ganxi town (formerly Ganxi township) in the south, tudiao town in the West and Guanzhou town in the north. It is 11.5 kilometers long from north to south, 15.20 kilometers wide from east to west, and covers an area of 102.23 square kilometers In February 2015, Guizhou Provincial People's Government approved the abolition of Banchang Township in Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County and the establishment of Banchang town.

Cut by the Wujiang River, the terrain is high in the west, with overlapping mountains, undulating mountains, crisscross gullies, and inclined to the southeast. Near the Wujiang River, there are low mountains and hills, crisscross gullies, with the highest altitude of 1342 meters and the lowest altitude of 295 meters. It is mainly eroded landform, with a karst area of 79.50 square kilometers and a non karst area of 2273 square kilometers.
