Guanyindong town

In 2013, with the consent of the provincial government, Shajing Miao Yi Gelao Township in Qianxi county was abolished and officially established as guanyindong town. Guanyindong town is located in the southwest of Qianxi County, bordering on Jinbi Town, Wuli Township and Jinlan Town, and across the river from Daping Township, GuanZhai Township, Babu town and Nayong township of Zhijin County. It has a warm climate, abundant rainfall, long sunshine and rich natural resources and mineral resources. The main economic crops are flue-cured tobacco, rape, pepper and so on, especially flue-cured tobacco, which is one of the main production towns of flue-cured tobacco in the county.

In 1927, Shajing Town was established.

In 1941, the town was transformed into a township.

In May 1953, it was divided into six townships: Shajing, Xinzhai, Dazhai, Gaopo, longkui and Pinghua.

In 1954, Xinzhai Township and Dazhai Township were merged into Yanger Township, and horizontal township was merged into Shajing township.

In September 1958, the communes were transformed into townships.

In May 1984, Shajing commune was changed into Shajing Miao Yi Gelao township.

In 2013, the people's Government of Guizhou Province issued the reply of the people's Government of Guizhou Province on Approving the removal of township and establishment of town in Zhongshan Buyi Yi Township, Xiehe Yi Miao Township, Shajing Miao Yi Gelao Township, Qianxi County, Bijie City (QFH [2013] No. 96), and agreed to cancel Shajing Miao Yi Gelao Township and set up guanyindong town in Qianxi County. After the township was removed, the original administrative region remained unchanged.

Jianshan, Heye, Chenjiawan and other places in the upper reaches of Dongfeng Lake are scenic tourist attractions. In guanyindong village, 1.5km away from the township government, there is an ancient cultural site guanyindong, which is listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit. According to experts' research, the cultural site belongs to the Paleolithic age, which is earlier than the ape cultural site in Zhoukoudian area of Beijing.

Five hundred thousand years ago, there was a primitive life of "living in caves and wild places" in guanyindong village. After 1964, Guizhou Academy of Sciences excavated more than 3000 mammal fossils and stone tools in guanyindong, which is rich in content and distinctive characteristics. It is recognized as "guanyindong culture" all over the world.
