Niba Township

Niba Township, located in the northeast of Xishui County, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, is 97 kilometers away from the county, 106 kilometers away from Jiangjin District, 57 kilometers away from Qijiang County, 45 kilometers away from leishendian interface of Zunyi expressway, and 125 kilometers away from the downtown area of Chongqing. It is one of the nearest towns in Guizhou Province to Chongqing.

NIBA township has obvious geographical advantages. It is located on the slope of Sichuan basin to Guizhou Plateau, with an average altitude of 920 meters and an altitude of 600-1350 meters. The climate is superior, belonging to subtropical humid monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 14.9 ℃, frost free period of 282 days and average rainfall of 1010 mm. The land is fertile, with 15000 mu of arable land and 0.88 mu of arable land per farmer. Barren hills and slopes are 12.5 square kilometers, accounting for 15.7% of the total area.

The Qingxi River and the Dahe River are crisscross, the river drop is obvious, and the water energy storage is 2000 kW. Kujiaoba reservoir, daguchi reservoir and xiaoguchi reservoir constitute the irrigation system. It is rich in forest resources, with a forest coverage rate of 70%. There are many trees and vegetation in good condition. There are rare plants such as Alsophila spinosa, Ginkgo biloba and Tieshu. There are medicinal materials such as lacquer, tung oil, Sapium sebiferum, Eucommia ulmoides, Gastrodia elata, Cortex Phellodendri, Galla chinensis and economic plants such as tea, palm and bamboo shoots. It is rich in fruits such as spade, Ginkgo biloba, jujube, persimmon, peach, plum, cherry and safflower.

Agriculture is a typical grain pig type, known as "granary" in the county. The main grain is rice and corn, rich in wheat, potato, rape, tobacco and ramie. The rice is of good quality, and the animal husbandry is mainly pig. The existing tea garden is 400 mu, and the tea quality is good, which has great development potential.

Historical change

In ancient times, Niba was called "sanxingchang" in dingshanli. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), Wenshui Prefecture was changed to Wenshui County, and NIBA township was set up in longshengchang (now the stone slab of Feilongshan Village). In the fourth year of the Republic of China, Wenshui County was removed and Xishui County was established. Because of the narrow trading space of Longsheng market, it was relocated to sanxingchang (now Niba). Liberation in 1949, the founding of new China, followed by the establishment of the county people's Government in February 1950, due to administrative system reform, "sanxingchang" renamed NIBA township (the original small township government), under the jurisdiction of zhaiba district. In August 1992, because of the reform of building towns and merging townships, Niba Township, rongnong Township and Zongshan Township were abolished and merged to establish NIBA township.

The land area of the township is 79.6 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over five villages, one neighborhood committee, 42 villager groups and two resident groups, with a population of 4145 households and 17100 people. The total cultivated land area is 15492 mu, and the per capita cultivated land area is 0.9 mu. In 2006, the total grain output was 6274 tons, the per capita grain output was 366 kg, the total agricultural output value was 20.8 million yuan, the total industrial output value was 31.27 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 1788 yuan.

The total planning area of small towns in NIBA township is 60 mu, and 35 Mu has been implemented.
