Xiaogou township is located in the southwest of Leibo County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, on the east foot of huangmaogeng, 58 kilometers away from the county government. The township has a total area of 32 square kilometers and a population of 10000. The highest altitude in the territory is 3139 meters, the lowest is 1075 meters. It has jurisdiction over three villagers' committees and 23 Villagers' groups, namely Moyi, jiaomashan and ChanChang.

On June 12, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Xiaogou township.
