Ziwei township is a township level administrative unit under the jurisdiction of Meigu County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, the people's Republic of China.

Historical evolution

On January 12, 2021, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Ziwei Township and establish Xinqiao Town. The people's Government of Xinqiao Town is located at No. 13, Yida street, siganqian village.

Ziwei Township covers an area of 36.4 square kilometers, with the highest altitude of 2874 meters (zeha mountain), the lowest altitude of 2200 meters (near the township), and the relative elevation difference of 647 meters. The geological structure is complex, with more folds and faults.

Ziwei township is a monsoon climate, dry and wet, the annual average temperature of 11 ℃. The soil is mainly composed of yellow brown soil and purple soil, which are mostly formed by weathering of sand shale and purple shale, with strong leaching capacity. Therefore, the soil is short of phosphorus, zinc, boron and other elements, and is generally acidic. The crops are mainly buckwheat, oats, potato and corn. Most of the distributed vegetation are dry plants, and most of them are artificial afforestation, such as Pinus yunnanensis, Larix kaempferi, alder and poplar.
