Senrong township is located in the central and western part of Mianning County, covering an area of 201.37 square kilometers. At the end of 2005, the total population of senrong township was 11592 people, belonging to the Yi inhabited township. The Yi people accounted for 98.5% of the total population, and the Han and Tibetan people accounted for 1.5%. The township government is 17 kilometers away from the county seat.
