On January 12, 2021, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Liangshan Prefecture to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns in Puge county and other seven counties (Chuanfu Civil Affairs [2021] No. 1): cancel Kumo Township and put its administrative area under the jurisdiction of Boluo township. BOLUO Township People's government is stationed at No. 56, group 4, BOLUO village.

BOLUO township is under the jurisdiction of Zhaojue County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. BOLUO township was established in 1952, changed to BOLUO commune in 1972, and restored to BOLUO Township in 1984.

BOLUO township is located in the northwest of the county, 33 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 73.6 square kilometers and has a population of 5000. It has eight village committees, viz. BOLUO, Puli, poguere, huotuoke, erliangjue, shuyouzi, shamalgu and Jinqu Dimo.

BOLUO Township mainly produces potato, buckwheat and oats. Coal is the main mineral deposit.
