Jiayi township is under the jurisdiction of Jinyang County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Jiayi township was established in 1957, changed to Jiayi commune in 1972, and restored to Jiayi Township in 1984.

Jiayi township is located in the west of the county, 35 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 58.7 square kilometers and has a population of 3000. It has jurisdiction over five village committees, namely, Shengzu, lamujue, Shaba, Baoyan and Luoke.

On January 12, 2021, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Liangshan Prefecture to adjust the administrative divisions of Puge county and other seven counties (cfzm [2021] No. 1): Zhaizi township was canceled and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Jiayi Township, which was stationed in group 1, Shaba village by Jiayi Township people's government.

Jiayi Township mainly produces corn and potato. Animal husbandry is dominated by pigs and sheep.

The climate is unique and rich in biological resources. It is characterized by subtropical monsoon climate and three-dimensional climate of subtropical mountains. There are 430 kinds of suitable and high-yield crops. The well-known Jinyang Qingshan pepper has thick skin, large grains, turquoise green, pure taste, rich and long-lasting, easy storage and transportation. It is an indispensable condiment for many brands such as Fuling mustard and Sichuan cuisine. Green pepper (pepper) suitable for development area of 300000 mu, 210000 Mu to be developed, annual output of more than 1000 tons, output value of 30 million yuan, known as the first county of Sichuan green pepper (pepper). White konjac is a treasure of konjac, especially in the unique climate, soil and industrial pollution-free environment of Jinyang, it has the characteristics of white color, fine sand, wrapped meat and high glucomannan. Products are widely used in petroleum exploration, chemical industry, printing and dyeing, textile, medicine, building materials, food packaging, etc. Recently, konjac soap, lotion and other cosmetic products have been developed. More than 80000 mu of arable land is suitable for growing Amorphophallus konjac, and more than 60000 Mu is yet to be developed, which can produce 40 million jin of high-quality Amorphophallus konjac.

Economics

After nearly 50 years of development, the economy has begun to take shape. Since the reform and opening up, especially in the past two years, the economic scale has been further expanded, the level of productivity has been greatly improved, the infrastructure construction is changing with each passing day, and the people's living standard has been significantly improved. Since 1998, with traffic construction as a breakthrough, Jinyang has accelerated the pace of infrastructure construction, widened and reconstructed the main roads such as Zhaojin Road, improved the highway network of Tongxiang, set up 35kV Transmission and transformation circuit, and opened digital program-controlled telephone and wireless mobile communication. Five advantageous pillar industries have been established, including Zanthoxylum bungeanum, Amorphophallus konjac, planting grass and raising livestock, sericulture and flue-cured tobacco. Since the implementation of 140000 Mu natural forest resources protection project in 1998, 250000 Mu aerial seeding afforestation has been implemented this year, which further improves the ecological environment and ensures the sustainable development of county economy.
