Huatan town

Huatan town is located in the southeast of Ningnan County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, on the Bank of Jinsha River, with an area of 45.27 square kilometers and a population of 15352 (2017).

On December 13, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Liangshan Prefecture to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns and townships in six counties (cities), including Xichang City (cfzm [2019] No. 18): Hulukou town was abolished, and the administrative areas of Zhilu village, Wuxing village and Daxing village in Hulukou town were assigned to Huatan Town, and Huatan Town People's government was stationed at No. 8 Wawu street.

Huatan town is located in the southeast of Ningnan County, 35 kilometers away from Ningnan County, on the Bank of Jinsha River. It faces Qiaojia county of Yunnan Province across the river in the East, Dacong township of Huidong County in the south, Xiyao Township in the west, Hulukou town in the north, and Jinsha village group 3 in the people's government, with east longitude of 102 ° 50 ′～ 102 ° 53 ′, north latitude of 26 ° 52 ′～ 26 ° 55 ′, and altitude of 680 meters. The town covers an area of 45.27 square kilometers, with 16389 mu of arable land and 789 mu of returning farmland to forest (grass). The highest point is xiajialiangzi in group 2 of Tongchang village, with an altitude of 1861 meters. The lowest point is zhilugou estuary in group 5 of Jinjiang village, with an altitude of 620 meters. It is a typical dry hot valley with abundant light and heat resources. It is dry and windy in spring, concentrated rainfall in summer, high temperature and humidity in summer and autumn, mild and less snow in winter, and long frost free period.

The seven villages in the town are connected with cement roads, and the ring road running through the town connects the main sericulture areas of the town, forming a spectacular ten thousand mu mulberry garden in the ring road, which is the largest sericulture base in Ningnan County. The town has formed a low-altitude Yongle Village, Jinsha village, Shuitang village, Xianfeng village, Dengta village and Jinjiang village, which mainly develop sericulture; the high-altitude Tongchang village takes the development of flue-cured tobacco as the core; the villager groups along the river, based on their special natural advantages, vigorously plant vegetables in the morning market. Through the adjustment of industrial structure, a green ecological three-dimensional agriculture of Interplanting winter potatoes and morning vegetables with "6215" mulberry was formed, which greatly increased the land output value per unit area. In 2013, the town raised 27400 silkworms, produced 26200 cocoons, planted 2245 mu of flue-cured tobacco, produced 270000 kg of tobacco, and planted 15000 mu of winter potatoes. It is estimated that the output of fresh potatoes is 30000 tons, the average yield is more than 6800 Jin per mu, the commodity rate is more than 80%, the total agricultural output value is 113.03 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers is 8000 yuan.

There is a central hospital with 33 doctors.

It used to be called Wawuchang. In the late Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Wawu sub Prefecture of Huili Prefecture. In 1932, it was assigned to Ningnan County. Huafu town was established in 1935, Huatan township was renamed in 1952, commune was changed in 1958, township was restored in 1983, and town was established in 1992.

Huatan ferry

Huatan town is an ancient market town in history. Huatan ferry is an ancient ferry, connecting the fortresses of Sichuan and Yunnan. In April 1863, Shi Dakai, the king of the wing, led the main force of the Taiping army through miliangba (today's Qiaojia county) and crossed the Jinsha River to the north of Sichuan again. In May 1935, under the leadership of Luo Binghui, commander of the Red Army, and he Changgong, political commissar of the Red Army, the ninth corps of the Chinese workers' and peasants' Red Army went north from Huidong via Huatan.

Huatan market town

The old name of Huatan market town is Wawu street. It was named huafuchang in 1914 and Huatan in 1945. In the old town, the street was less than one li long, and there were "six palaces and four temples" known as ten big temples, namely Confucian temple, Wu Temple, Chuanzhu temple, zhangfei temple, Yungui temple, Nanyue palace, Tianhou palace, Yuwang palace, Wanshou Palace, Nanhua palace, as well as some small temples such as Liusheng temple and Gongwen temple. It has the reputation of "Buddhist holy land". Each temple is magnificent and exquisite in architectural art. It is probably the work of a famous craftsman. On both sides or in front of each temple, there are Huangjue trees (banyan trees). In the hot and dry dry dry valley of Jinsha River, this kind of temple facing each other and connected with trees is a kind of wonder. Judging from the age of ancient banyan trees and the existing inscriptions of Nanhua palace, these temples were probably built from Qianlong to Jiaqing of Qing Dynasty, and the first one was Yuwang palace. Unfortunately, in the 1960s, clay sculptures and wood carvings disappeared. In the 1980s, most of the temples were demolished. Today, there are six palaces in Nanhua, and there are no four temples. Only one Huangjue tree, whose shape is like a giant umbrella, can be surrounded by five or six people as a witness of history.

Huatan windbreak

Huatan windbreak forest is a strip of pure Casuarina equisetifolia forest, 10 kilometers long and 10 to 20 rows wide. It forms a silver and green double color belt with the surging Jinsha River, like a beautiful skirt. As soon as you enter the windbreak, your feet will be submerged by the clean and soft river sand, which makes you want to sit or lie on the spot and enjoy the unique scenery of the river.
