Yeniuping Township
Yeniuping township is under the jurisdiction of Huidong County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It originally belonged to the Second District of Qiaojia county, Yunnan Province. Guandi township was established in 1952, Songping commune was established by merging with Songping Township in 1958, Guancun commune was changed in 1961, Xinghuo commune was renamed in 1966, yeniuping commune was renamed in 1981, and yeniuping township was established in 1984.
Now farmers in yeniuping township are vigorously developing fruit tree planting. Almost all of them are planted with loquat trees, and a large number of loquat fruits mature around the new year every year. There are 801 loquat farmers in three villages along the yeniuping river. Loquat is mainly sold to Kunming, Zhaotong, Qujing, Chongqing, Guizhou, Yibin, Huidong, etc. Today, loquat has become the pillar industry of yeniuping and its surrounding villages. We believe that through the efforts of the working people, we can become a well-off village as soon as possible.
Yeniuping township is located in the east of the county, across the Jinsha River from Yunnan Province, 152 kilometers away from the county government, with an area of 23.28 square kilometers and a population of 3768 (2017). Hua (tan) Gan (Yanjing) road directly to the territory, there are ferry crossing Jinsha River to reach Yunnan Province. It has jurisdiction over six village committees: yeniuping, Guancun, Chenjiawan, Dalishu, ganyanjing and gantianba. Agriculture mainly produces sugarcane, corn and potato. Yeniuping township is located along the Jinsha River Basin. It belongs to the middle mountain deep cutting erosion and denudation landform. It has a subtropical climate type, rich in light and heat resources, obvious dry and wet seasons, and mild climate. The annual average temperature is 21.2 ℃, and the accumulated temperature of ≥ 10 ℃ is 7526.3 ℃. In recent years, sugarcane and sericulture production has developed into the main economic pillar industries. Jinsha River graben separates Dongchuan and Huidong County. The two counties and districts are separated by river and by boat. As a result, the economic exchanges between the two counties and districts are not smooth, which seriously affects the development, utilization and cooperation of the superior resources of the two counties and districts, and restricts the economic development of the two counties and districts.
