Caoyuan Township

Caoyuan township is under the jurisdiction of Huili City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Pingji township. Caoyuan township was set up in 1952, changed to Caoyuan commune in 1972, and restored to Caoyuan Township in 1983.

Caoyuan township is located in the northeast of the county, 49 kilometers away from the county. Population 8711 (2017). There are country roads. It has eight village committees, namely, DACAO, Heping, Jiucaiping, Xiaoshui, Dayuan, Pianqiao, Mucun and Badi.

The main agricultural products in Caoyuan township are corn, potato and wheat. Sheep, pigs and cattle are the main breeding industries.

Caoyuan Township Central School

Founded in 1956, it has jurisdiction over 7 administrative villages with 4456 people. There is one township level primary school, with 3 schools, 20 classes, 499 students and 18 in-service teachers. There are 110 boarding students. The enrollment rate of the whole township is 99.5% and the graduation rate is 99%.

The school covers an area of 2173 square meters, with seven classrooms, one kitchen and one canteen. There are three male dormitories, two female dormitories and one meeting room.
