Shengfang Town, which belongs to Bazhou City, Langfang City, Hebei Province, is located in the southeast of Bazhou, and is located in Tianjin, with an area of 97.01 square kilometers. Up to 2018, the registered residence population was 99196.

Shengfang Town originally belonged to Wen'an County. In the 35th year of the Republic of China (1946), it was assigned to Ba County and became Shengfang city. In 1949, it was separated from shengba County as Shengfang Town at the county level, directly under the Tianjin special area. In 1963, it was re assigned to Ba County as Shengfang Town commune. In 1981, it was changed into Shengfang Town. As of June 2020, Shengfang Town has one community and 39 administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 340 industrial enterprises in Shengfang Town, including 36 enterprises above Designated Size and 72 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

Shengfang Town originally belonged to Wen'an County.

In the 35th year of the Republic of China (1946), it was assigned to Ba County and became Shengfang city.

In 1947, shengba county was merged with Ba County.

In 1949, it was separated from shengba County as Shengfang Town at the county level, directly under the Tianjin special area.

In 1954, it was put under the jurisdiction of Baxian county.

In 1958, Shengfang commune was established.

In 1961, it was designated as a county-level town.

In 1963, it was re assigned to Ba County as Shengfang Town commune.

In 1981, it was changed into Shengfang Town.

The origin of place names

Originally a water town, it was named ditou village because of its location at the confluence of river dikes. It was renamed Shengfang in Song Dynasty.

Shengfang ancient town

Shengfang ancient town, 35 kilometers east of Bazhou City, is a national AAA tourist attraction. It was built more than 2500 years ago in the late spring and Autumn period. The water area of the town is located in the east of Baiyangdian Lake, so it is called Dongdian lake. It is said that Emperor Qianlong paid a private visit to Shengfang, leaving a written approval of "Shengshui, lotus fragrance, fragrance for all ages". There is a folk saying that "there are Suzhou and Hangzhou in the south, and Shengfang in the north".

Shengfang Museum

Shengfang museum is located in Zhongshan street, Shengfang ancient town. It was originally the Sino Soviet Friendship Culture Palace. It was built in 1958 to commemorate the Sino Soviet friendship. In the west of the museum is Wang's courtyard, and in the East is Tongji Bridge on Shengfang river. It is a place where Shengfang's former style is intensively displayed. The water town is full of charm, including the land and water dependent residential villages, the labor scene of weaving mats and fishing, the ancient commercial culture, the physical remains of Shengfang flower fair, and the water town scene of fragrant reed flowers and fish and crab fat, which reproduces the "Qingming River map" in Central Hebei during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

On October 27, 2005, Shengfang Town was listed on the list of the first national civilized villages and towns.

In October 2008, Shengfang Town was selected as the second batch of famous historical and cultural towns and villages in Hebei Province.

On December 20, 2011, Shengfang Town was listed on the third national list of civilized villages and towns.

On July 21, 2014, Shengfang Town was identified as a national key town by seven ministries and commissions including the Ministry of housing and urban rural development.

On July 13, 2015, Shengfang Town was selected into the third batch of national characteristic landscape tourism towns and villages demonstration list.

In October 2019, Shengfang Town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

On December 30, 2019, the Department of industry and information technology of Hebei Province identified Shengfang Town as a famous county and town of characteristic industry in Hebei Province in 2019, and a famous town of characteristic customized furniture industry in Hebei Province.
