AQI Township

AQI township is located in the south of Xichang City, about 50 kilometers away from the urban area. It is adjacent to Anning River in the East, Qiaodi Township in the west, ayue Township in Dechang County in the south, Zhongba Township and Mopan Township in the north. The highest point is Yane mountain, with an altitude of 2370 meters, and the lowest point is Xiaozhaizi, with an altitude of 1472 meters.

In December 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province agreed to abolish AQI Township and establish AQI town. The administrative region of AQI town is the former AQI Township and the former Qiaodi township. The people's Government of AQI town is located at No.1 Aqiao road.

General situation of the village

With a total area of 36.42 square kilometers, the township governs four villages and 30 villager groups (including two Yi groups), with a total population of 9010 (2017). There are one cultural station, one broadcasting station, one agricultural technology station, one agricultural economic station, one grain station, one agricultural machinery station, one veterinary station, one water pipe station and one credit union, one health center, three village medical stations and four private clinics in the township. The AQI suspension bridge crosses the Anning River. There are the character bank built in the early years of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty and the ancient tomb of the Warring States period. The ancient tomb is one of the key protected cultural relics in Xichang City.
