Rilong Township

Rilong township is under the jurisdiction of Derong County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. In 1958, it set up rilong Township, changed into a commune in 1974, and resumed in 1984.

On June 17, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish rilong township.

Rilong township is located in the southwest of the county, 24 kilometers away from the county. Population 989 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 9 village committees, including ridui village committee, rizong village committee, Rugong village committee, Longrong village committee, Mayi village committee, Jiazi village committee, Danmark village committee, zhiganka village committee and denggui village committee.

Rilong Township mainly produces wheat, highland barley and corn.

It has jurisdiction over 1 town and 11 townships: songmai Town, Sizha Township, Xulong Township, rilong Township, quyagong Township, Bendu Township, Bali Township, Guxue Township, Zigeng Township, Gongbo Township, baisong Township and Ciwu township. Derong means Canyon in Tibetan. It was called Delong in the old days. The Qing Dynasty established Rongxian.

In 2000, Derong County governed one town and 11 townships: songmai Town, Sizha Township, Bendu Township, Bari Township, rilong Township, Xulong Township, quyagong Township, Guxue Township, Zigeng Township, Ciwu Township, baisong Township and Gongbo township.
