Xiangbala town is under the jurisdiction of Xiangcheng County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Xiangbala Town, formerly known as sangpi Town, is the seat of Ganzi County Government. It was renamed in 2005 because it is in the core area of "Shangri La eco-tourism area". Tibetan means "the place where gods live.".

White Tibetan houses, crazy clothes and sangpi temple are three unique sceneries in Xiangcheng County, which integrate Tibetan, Yi and Naxi costumes. Xiangbala Town, located in the middle of Xiangcheng County, is the political, economic and cultural center of Xiangcheng County, with an altitude of 2700-3760 meters.
