Gemu Township
GEMU township: located in the central and southern part of Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, adjacent to Huachuan County in the East and south. The township government is 8 kilometers away from the urban area. The name of Gemu Township comes from the name of xigemu village. Xigemu means "gomusu" and Manchu means "Zhangzisong".
Jurisdiction is a semi mountainous area. The total area of the township is 127 square kilometers, with 54000 mu of arable land, mainly for food crops.

Xigemu, donggemu, Kaoshan, Ping'an, Fengsheng, Minsheng, forest farm, Qunlin, Xiangyang, Yingshan, Caomao, FengHao, Qunshan and other 13 villages are under the jurisdiction of the township. At the end of 1992, the total population of the township was 14000, of which Manchu accounted for about 1.5%. The township government is located in xigemu village. Historical evolution
In the late Qing Dynasty, after 1890 (the 16th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), people successively lived in caomaudingzi (today's Caomao Village), guolanshi (today's Qunlin Village), beibaoshan and other places, most of which were named after the residence, mountain and surname, and were under the jurisdiction of the three surnames of the vice capital. In 1910 (the second year of Xuantong of Qing Dynasty), it was under the jurisdiction of Huachuan County and subordinate to Fucai district. After the fall of Northeast China, it belonged to Heitong village in 1938. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was under the jurisdiction of the Ninth District of Huachuan County and later under the jurisdiction of Heitong district. In March 1956, xigemu township was set up. In November 1957, it was under the jurisdiction of Jiamusi City and merged into the red flag people's commune in September of the next year. In 1959, it was incorporated into Heping livestock farm of Heilongjiang Province. In 1962, it was set up from Heping livestock farm. In June 1964, it was decided to be under the jurisdiction of Huachuan County, which was officially transferred to Huachuan County in September 1968, and Jiamusi City in 1972. In May 1984, the government and society were separated and changed to xigemu township.
