Si Tong Da Xiang
Sitongda township is under the jurisdiction of Ganzi County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Before liberation, it was under the jurisdiction of the chieftain of holdonggu. Sitongda township is located in the east of the county, 60 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 235.87 square kilometers and has a population of 2752 (2017). It has jurisdiction over three village committees: Bangduo, sitongda and Zhila.
Historical evolution
In 1956, Bangduo Township and Donggu Township were established; in 1959, the two townships were merged and named sitongda township; in 1960, the commune was changed; and in 1983, the township was restored.
economic development
Sitongda township is dominated by animal husbandry, mainly raising yaks and goats. It is famous for red cow leather processing and Tibetan hand decoration processing. It produces dangshen, Zhenjiao and other valuable medicinal materials. There is Donggu temple in the territory.
