Songsong township is located in the east of Tongjiang County, 55 kilometers away from the county, bordering Zhicheng prison in the East, Zhibao and Yuntan in the south, Maoyu in the West and Zhicheng town in the north. The average altitude is 1100 meters, and the altitude of township government offices is 1200 meters. It covers an area of 35.23 square kilometers.

On May 25, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish singing township.

The cultivated land area of the township is more than 5200 mu, and the forest coverage rate is 38.6%. The township has 6 villagers' committees, 33 cooperatives and 4595 people (2017). In 2004, the GDP reached 8.2536 million yuan, the per capita net income was 1038 yuan, and the total grain output was about 1800 tons.

Singing township is a typical agricultural township. The main grain is rice, rape and corn. Over 2500 mu of rice is planted throughout the year, with an output of 2.6 million Jin and an output value of 1.82 million yuan; over 3000 mu of rape is planted, with an output of 2.2 million yuan; 4500 mu of corn is planted, with an output of 4 million Jin and an output value of 2.4 million yuan. The production of Chinese medicinal materials mainly includes honeysuckle, motherwort, Salvia miltiorrhiza, ginger and Platycodon grandiflorum, with an output of 35000 kg and an output value of more than 400000 yuan. Animal husbandry focuses on breeding live pigs and goats, with an annual output of 5000 commercial pigs, an output value of 1.5 million yuan, and more than 3500 goats in captivity. Singing is one of the ginkgo production bases in the county. At present, the planting area is up to 2900 mu, and there are 145000 ginkgo trees. The annual output is 26000 Jin, and the output value is 160000 yuan.

Songsong township is rich in coal mines and tourism resources. Songsong stone forest, one of the four main scenic spots of nuoshui river national key scenic spot, covers an area of 14 square kilometers. There are more than 50 odd shaped stones in the stone forest, such as "Tang Monk pilgrimage", "fairy coming down to earth", "one pillar holding the sky", "official boots inverted", etc., which have high development value.

At present, there are two 29 km trunk roads in the township, with the village access rate of 100% and the community access rate of 75%. The radio and TV coverage rate of villages is 100%, the community coverage rate is 90%, and the TV coverage rate is 789 households, reaching 60%. A mobile base station has been built, and the telephone village connection rate reaches 100%.

Earthquake relief

After the disaster happened in 2011, Songsong Township quickly launched the emergency plan for natural disasters, held an emergency meeting of Party members and cadres, organized party members and cadres to spare no effort to fight against the disaster and save themselves, went from house to house to check the disaster situation, provided temporary assistance to the families with difficulties and five guarantees, and took necessary anti freezing measures for overwintering vegetables and spring crops, striving to minimize the losses. At the same time, we should strengthen the investigation of potential safety hazards, set up warning signs, and completely block the traffic trunk lines covered by ice and snow, so as to ensure the safety of vehicle operation. At present, 32 rural cadres have been sent to set up six working teams to help 90 people in need, to visit more than 320 people in 120 families with difficulties, five guarantees and severe disasters, to distribute 52 quilts and 85 pieces of clothing, to repair 5500 meters of drinking water pipes, and to solve the drinking water problems caused by ice and snow for more than 560 livestock and 2250 people.
