In 1978, Aimin road street was set up. On April 26, 1982, it was renamed beimenwai street. In March 2001, it was renamed Aimin Dongdao street. As of June 2020, Aimin Dongdao street has 16 communities under its jurisdiction.

In 2000, it was transferred from anci district to Guangyang District, with 10 community residents committees, including Kangning street, tongjianlou, Shengli Street, Aimin Road, Shuguang Road, Yuhua Road, Qun'an street, Yingchun Road, qunxingli and nongshengli.

In March 2001, it was renamed Aimin Dongdao street.

In March 2001, four community residents committees were set up: Guangyang West Road, Guangyang North Road, Chunyang road and Shuguang North Road.

In April 2001, Guangyang Xidao community residents committee was renamed jianhuali community residents committee, Guangyang Daobei community residents committee was renamed 3534 community residents committee; in May of the same year, Guangyang apartment community residents committee was added; in August of the same year, three community residents committees, 3531, Huayuan and xinxingli, were added.

In 2006, the residents committee of Kangning street was put under the jurisdiction of Yinhe North Road.

In April 2007, Shengli Street and Yingchun road were merged into Yingchun North Road community residents committee.

In May 2007, three community residents committees, including xinjingjie, Huaxia classic and yishujia, were set up, and four community residents committees, including nongshengli, Shuguang Road North, Aimin road and Chunyang Road, were abolished.
