Chaya Township

Chaya township is located in the southeast of Wanyuan City, 5 kilometers east of Wanyuan City, adjacent to Taiping Town, Guandu town, huacalyx Town, Baisha Town and Qinghua town. Covering an area of 79.51 square kilometers, Chaya township was set up in October 1950. Later, it was merged into Taiping Town, and now Chaya township is restored. In 2004, xianlongtan village of Chaya township was merged into Taiping town.

On June 12, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Chaya township.

It has jurisdiction over seven administrative villages, including Lijiagou village, laolongzhai village, Lijiaba village, Shimahe village, laowaping village, qiujiaping village and xieziping village, with 70 villager groups and 6287 people (2017). Chaya township was built in October 1950.

Geographical resources

The highest altitude is 1500m, the lowest is 650m, the annual average temperature is 15.2 ℃, the annual precipitation is about 1250mm, and the frost free period is 246 days. At the end of 2006, the cultivated land area was 5888 mu, including 2136 mu of farmland, producing potatoes, corn, rape, chestnut, walnut, Chinese herbal medicine, forest resources, etc., and a vegetable base of 300 mu was built at the municipal level. It is rich in forest resources and mineral resources, including raw coal, limestone, gypsum, shale, silica and other mineral resources.

Every village is connected to the highway; the TV coverage rate is more than 90%; Wanbai highway passes through three villages in the territory, so the traffic is very convenient. In terms of culture, education and health, there are 1 Township Central School, 5 village schools, more than 2000 students, nine-year compulsory education, 1 Township Health Center, 3 doctors and 7 village medical stations. There are 2 enterprises in the township: 2 coal mines, 2 natural gas transfer stations, 1 feijiu plastic treatment plant, 1 artillery plant, 2 limestone plants, 1 ice-cream plant, 1 production base of practical bacteria, and municipal chemical plants and garbage treatment plants. In zhonggaoshan village, the township has formed a planting belt mainly based on planting industry, such as qiujiaping's 1000 mu potato production base, 500 mu original seed base and 200 mu original seed base, 1800 Mu seasonal and pollution-free high-quality vegetables, 1200 Mu walnut based dried fruits and 800 Mu medicinal materials; in Zhongshan village, a breeding belt mainly based on breeding industry, mainly relying on beef cattle and pig breeding Association To develop the breeding industry of the whole Township, and form a small industrial and commercial belt with small commodities as the main along the Wanbai highway.
