Wofotang town
WOFO Town, subordinate to Hejian City, Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, is located in the northeast of Hejian City, bordering Renqiu City in the West and Dacheng County in the East, 30 km away from the urban area. By the end of 2017, Liugusi town has a total area of 81.5 square kilometers and a total population of 50000.
In 1954, mutual aid groups were established in rural areas, and primary agricultural cooperatives were established in the same year. In 1956, a senior agricultural cooperative was established. In September 1958, spark people's commune was established. In June 1961, the people's commune was renamed wofotang people's commune. In March 1984, it was renamed Township, and in July of the same year, it was renamed town. In 1996, it merged with Xigao Township and was still called wofotang town. Historical evolution
According to the inscriptions of the Ming Dynasty, in 1349, the Huanglong river was inundated. Some giant mulberry trees, which looked like Buddha, drifted here. The villagers carved a reclining Buddha statue with his left hand holding his cheek and built a large temple to worship it. So the village name qixingdian was changed into a reclining Buddha Hall. Before liberation, it was a Japanese puppet ruling area and an anti Japanese guerrilla area under the leadership of the Communist Party. It was once under the jurisdiction of the Fourth District of the Anti Japanese democratic government of Renhe county. In March 1949, it was transferred to Hejian county.
