Leshan town

Leshan town is under the jurisdiction of wusheng County, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province. It was named heierchang in the early Qing Dynasty and leshanchang in the late Qing Dynasty, belonging to Huixinli. After the establishment of the people's Republic of China, it was the residence of Leshan district government office. Leshan township was set up in 1950, Leshan commune was changed in 1958, Leshan township was restored in 1983, and Leshan town was built in 1985.

On December 11, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns in Guang'an City (cfzm [2019] No. 16): Longting township was cancelled and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Leshan town, and the people's Government of Leshan town was stationed at No. 44, Zhengyang Road.

Geographical location

Leshan town is located in the southeast of wusheng County, bordering Mengshan Township, Shuangxing Township, Yongsheng Township, Longting Township, Yumin town of Yuechi County and Xiaojia town of Hechuan District of Chongqing. It is 98 km south to Chongqing, 93 km north to Nanchong and 32 km east to Qinghua railway station of Hunan Chongqing railway. The terrain is dominated by shallow hills, with 1208 hectares of arable land.
