Yi Nationality Town in Qingping

Qingping Yi nationality township, Pingshan County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, is located 58 kilometers southwest of Pingshan County. In June 2006, the Township Institutional Reform merged maoshui Township and Qingping Yi nationality township to form Qingping Yi nationality township. The government is stationed in three groups of maoshui village. The township is rich in water resources, mineral resources, bamboo and wood resources.

On July 29, 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Qingping Yi township as a national health township for the period of 2017-2019.

Basic information

Qingping Yi nationality township, Pingshan County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, is located 58 kilometers southwest of Pingshan County. In June 2006, the Township Institutional Reform merged maoshui Township and Qingping Yi nationality township to form Qingping Yi nationality township. The government is stationed in three groups of maoshui village. It borders Xining Town, Shatuo Township, Shuanghe Township and Ganzi Township in Leibo County in the southwest, and Xinshi Town, Xiaxi Township and Pingbian Yi Township in the northeast. The whole township is 365-1500 meters above sea level. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. It belongs to the mountainous area in the lower reaches of Jinsha River. The high mountains crisscross the territory. The annual temperature is - 1 ℃ - 38 ℃, and the three-dimensional climate is obvious. The annual precipitation is about 800-1000 mm. It has jurisdiction over 10 villages and 60 villager groups (including 12 Yi groups), with a total population of 6728 (2017). It covers an area of 84.2 square kilometers. There are more than 21000 mu of forest land and 13000 mu of barren hills suitable for forest. In 2005, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the township was 23.32 million yuan, including 17.49 million yuan of agricultural output value and 5.83 million yuan of industrial output value. The local fiscal revenue is 190000 yuan, and the per capita net income is 2003 yuan. Provincial Highway 307 runs through maoshui and Dashi villages. The township is rich in water resources, mineral resources, bamboo and wood resources.

Agricultural situation

The main food crops are rice, corn and wheat, and the main economic crops are konjac, peanut, rape, citrus and tea. It is a typical agricultural township, and also one of the fruit, konjac and tea base townships in our county. There are Ponkan, longan, Jinhua Pear and other high-quality fruit varieties. It is one of the townships of "Jinshajiang Baili fruit corridor" in Pingshan County, and the origin of "Jinhe taro horn". By the end of 2005, there were 1500 mu of high-quality Ponkan, 600 mu of longan, 1560 mu of white konjac, 160 tons of fresh konjac, 5000 mu of green tea garden and 2000 mu of Kuding tea. There are more than 3000 goats and 4100 live pigs. At present, the area of returning farmland to forest is 6081.7 mu. The total grain output is 3743 tons, with 428 kg of grain per capita.

Industrial situation

There are three power stations in Qingping, Xingxing and Lingguan. Among them, the installed capacity of Qingping power station is 640 kW, that of Xingxing power station is 960 kW, and that of Lingguan power station is 125 kW. There is a silicon ore factory with an annual mining capacity of 150000 tons.

Culture, education and health

At present, there are 1 central school, 1 Xingxing primary school, 9 Village Primary Schools (including the civil aviation hope primary school funded by Southwest civil aviation in 1998) and 8 teaching centers; students: 1444 in primary schools and 339 in junior middle schools; among them, 214 in minority primary schools and 23 in Junior middle schools. There are 53 teachers, including 7 ethnic minority teachers and 26 substitute teachers. The enrollment rate of Han school-age children is 100% and the consolidation rate is 98%. At present, there are 2 township health centers, 3 village health stations and 8 employees.

Existing problems

Due to inconvenient transportation, poor natural conditions, weak economic foundation and lagging infrastructure construction, there is a big gap in the funds for rural construction being implemented.

On July 29, 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Qingping Yi township as a national health township for the period of 2017-2019.
