Caoying town
Caoying town is a town level administrative region under the jurisdiction of Gong county, Yibin City, Sichuan Province.
Caoying town is located in the southeast of Gongxian County, adjacent to Shibei Township in the East, Luohai town in the south, Luodu Township in the West and Jiusi town in Xingwen County in the north. It is 104.93 degrees east longitude and 28.06 degrees north latitude. It is 78 kilometers away from Gongxian County and 59 kilometers away from Xingwen County. The township covers an area of 44.87 square kilometers, with a forest coverage rate of 34.86%. It has 8 administrative villages and 53 villager groups with a total population of 10176 (2017). It enjoys the reputation of "hometown of Bo people, hometown of tribute tea".
On August 24, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns in Yibin City: Shibei township was cancelled and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of caoying Town, and caoying Town People's government was stationed in group 4 of Fengming village.
Basic introduction
Caoying town is a town level administrative region under the jurisdiction of Gong county, Yibin City, Sichuan Province. in March 2014, with the approval of Sichuan Provincial People's government, it was reconstructed from caoying township. According to the reply of Sichuan Provincial People's Government on Approving the adjustment of some township administrative divisions in Yibin County, Gongxian County, Changning County and Xingwen County (cfgm [2014] No.4). Caoying township was abolished and caoying town was established. The people's Government of caoying town was stationed in Fengming community and governed the administrative region of caoying township.
Historical evolution
According to the county annals of Gongxian County, Duzhangman raided Xunan and Lunan counties in 1573, the first year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty. He was defeated by Zeng Shengwu, the governor of Sichuan Province, and Liu Xian, the commander in chief, with 140000 soldiers. A general surnamed Cao was stationed in the camp, which was named caojiaying. At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, he immigrated to Sichuan from Macheng area of Huguang (now Hubei Province) for many times, and has been living and reproducing so far, belonging to the eighth class of Shangluo township. In the 25th year of the Republic of China, caoying township was established, under the jurisdiction of eight Bao. In 1931, it was divided into Xingwen County and Gongxian County in October 1983.
