Human history

It is a necessary place for the ancient "Wuchi" post road. The town has Wenchang palace, stone archway and other ancient buildings of the Qing Dynasty. Liberated in 1950, the commune was withdrawn and merged in 1978. In January 1981, the Revolutionary Committee of the commune was renamed the management committee. In March 1981, the commune was separated and the Dawo and Longquan Township Governments were established. In 1992, the commune was withdrawn and the town was established.

Dawo town is a new base of fruits, peanuts, red sorghum, sericulture and traditional Chinese medicine. It mainly produces rice, wheat, cocoon, pig, chicken, duck and goose eggs.
