Zhongnong town

Zhongnong town is located 42 km southeast of Renshou County, 10 km from Xindian and 50 km from Zizhong in the East, 12 km from Hejia and 55 km from Weiyuan in the south, 23 km from Fujia and 42 km from Renshou in the west, 13 km from Beidou town and 45 km from Ziyang in the north, and 140 km from Chengdu. County roads run from north to south, which are the main transportation routes from Ziyang and other places to Renshou.

The town covers an area of 28.72 square kilometers (2017), with 8 administrative villages, 1 Street community, 1 rural community, 85 economic communities, 6432 households and 13285 population (2017). The number of agricultural households is 6350, the agricultural population is 19268, and the cultivated land area is 19951 mu. The main agricultural products are rice, corn, wheat, rape, peanuts, fruits, vegetables and so on. It is located in shallow hills with good climate, fertile land and abundant rainfall. It is suitable for the growth of all kinds of crops. Hongqi reservoir, Hongguang reservoir and the South Main and branch canal of Heilongtan are connected together to form a irrigation network to ensure the income of drought and flood.

In December 2019, the administrative divisions of some townships in Renshou County of Meishan were adjusted. Zhongnong town was abolished and Xindian town was established. The administrative area of Xindian town was the former Zhongnong town and the administrative area of Xindian township. The people's Government of Xindian town was stationed at 81 Tianba street.

Historical evolution

Before liberation, it was named zhoulongchang. It is said that zhoulongchang was the only thoroughfare from Fujia town to Fulun town (also known as siyanqiao) in Zizhong County. During the period, it was 30 kilometers away, and zhoulongchang lived in it. In the past, a group of people who worked as steamers lived here. Pedestrians took a break here, so they set up shops and gradually prospered, forming a small city called steamer farm. During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, zhoulongchang was homophonic. Because Ma'anshan, kite mountain, zhongjunfen, Denggan mountain and Mopan Mountain are surrounded by five mountains, it is said that "five horses return to their nests". In 1941, zhoulongchang was renamed Zhongnong farm due to the similar character of "Hui" in huilongchang and "Zhou" in zhoulongchang. In January 1950, the people's Government of Zhongnong township was established in Zhongnong farm, which has jurisdiction over nine castles. In April, 51, nine fortresses were transformed into 46 villages, and four townships, namely, Zhongnong, Jiefang, Hekou and Lijia, were established. Zhongnong Township governs one village in gaowu, Longtai, Muyu, Shiyan, Cangyin, and ZHANXUN, Gansu Province. In March 1953, seven villages in Jiefang Township, including dongwa, Datian, Yujia, Baiguo, Bainian, Lishu, and Huanglong, were assigned to Zhongnong Township, with 18 villages under its jurisdiction. In September 1955, Hekou township was merged into Zhongnong township. In October 1958, Zhongnong township was renamed Qianjin people's commune. In March 1962, five brigades including Yueyue, Hongqi, Xianghua, Guangming and Baishu were assigned to Hekou commune. At the same time, Qianjin people's commune was renamed Zhongnong commune. In 1975, due to the construction of LiuNian reservoir, Hongxing Village was assigned to Longfeng township. In January 1984, it was renamed Zhongnong Township People's government. Jurisdiction Anzi, Nengren, Maolin, Hongwei, Longtai, gaowu, Dongjun, Huangci 8 villages. In 1992, Ma'an township was merged into Zhongnong Township and renamed Zhongnong town. In 1994, Ma'an township was restored. In May 2005, Ma'an township was merged into Zhongnong town again. So far, it has jurisdiction over 16 villages and two neighborhood committees. Hongwei village is 2.5km away from Zhongnong Town, which is a combination of Maolin village and Hongwei village. Introduction to Zhoulong community

Introduction to Longtai community

Longtai community is 0.5km away from Zhongnong Town, which is a combination of gaowu village and Longtai village. It is adjacent to Huangci village in the north and Hongwei village in the south. It is located around the town with flat terrain, developed transportation and abundant water resources. There are 400 mu of town level high-quality late Ponkan demonstration plots. In 2016, after the adjustment of "village to residence", the organizational system of Longtai village was abolished, and the residents committee of Longtai community was newly established, which has jurisdiction over 10 economic communities, 897 agricultural households and 2629 rural population. The whole village has 2218 mu of arable land, mainly for grain cultivation.

Introduction to Dongjun Village

Dongjun village is 3km away from Zhongnong Town, connected with Huangci village and Beidou town in the north and Longtai village in the south. Village roads and highways run through each community, with convenient transportation, crisscross streams and rich water resources. There are 5 Zhujie Shihe weirs, 150 mu of high-quality late Ponkan and 200 mu of miscellaneous oranges. The village has 7 communities, 450 agricultural households, 1473 people, 1530 mu of arable land, 150 mu of town level high-quality late Ponkan demonstration film and 200 mu of mixed oranges.

Introduction to Huangci Village

Huangci village is located in the north gate of Zhongnong Town, bordering Beidou town in the north and Dongjun village in the East. In the south, it is adjacent to Longtai village. County roads cross the whole village. The village has seven economic communities, 424 agricultural households and 1374 people. The total cultivated land area is 1475 mu, mainly for planting grain and vegetables. The environment is beautiful and the transportation is convenient. In recent years, great efforts have been made to develop high-quality citrus, fish and pig farms.

Introduction to Jiefang Village

Jiefang village is located in the east of Zhongnong town. It is a combination of Jiefang village and Gongshi village. It borders Falun town in the East, Yuhuang village in the South and Futang village in the north. The village has 11 economic communities, 833 agricultural households, 2341 population and 2600 Mu cultivated land. Jiefang village is the village with the worst natural conditions in Zhongnong town. There is no river in the village, Heilongtan irrigation can not reach. In 2011, Heilongtan was included into ten million poverty alleviation development villages by the higher authorities. The whole village has undergone earth shaking changes. There are more than 30 new reservoirs, with water storage capacity of more than 4000 cubic meters, 3 kilometers of canal system, cement roads connecting the whole village, and planting about 1200 mu of high-quality citrus. In 2013, it was listed as a new rural construction village by the higher authorities.

Introduction to Futang Village

Futang village, located in the southeast of Zhongnong Town, is a combination of Futang village and Gaotai village. It borders Hejia town in the East and Tianguo village in the south. It is the farthest village from Zhongnong town. The village has 10 economic communities, 723 agricultural households, 2012 agricultural population, and 2290 mu of cultivated land. the natural conditions of the whole village are poor. In recent years, infrastructure construction has been vigorously developed. Cement roads connect all communities in the village, and convenient bridges have been built to connect the two banks across the river.

Tianguo village, located in the east of Zhongnong Town, is a combination of Tianguo village and Bianshan village. It is adjacent to Jiefang village in the East, Longtai village in the South and Futang village in the north. The village has 12 economic communities, 921 agricultural households, 2754 agricultural population and 3062 mu of arable land.

Yuhuang village, located in the northeast of Zhongnong Town, is a combination of Yuhuang village and Jingshu village. It borders Falun town of Zizhong County in the East, Tianguo village in the north and Jiefang village in the south. The village governs 8 economic communities, with 560 agricultural households and 1730 agricultural population. The village has 2099 mu of arable land, mainly for grain cultivation.
