Wenxi Township

Jiange County governs the township. In 1935, he built a township in baituguan, merged into Jiangkou Township in 1955, built Wenxi commune in 1961, and set up Wenxi Township in 1984. Located in the northeast of the county, 16 kilometers away from Pu'an, the old town of Jiange, Wenxi river passes through the county. Among them, 4 families of Erlang first team and 4 families of Xinzhong first team voluntarily apply for early relocation. After consulting the Immigration Bureau, these 8 families have been approved to start the relocation work in advance. The township has completed the verification of population and basically completed the production resettlement. Fund allocation: 3405865.83 yuan in advance, 305000 yuan in reward and 231000 yuan in emergency subsidy. At present, 2808714.54 yuan has been cashed, and 597151.29 yuan is left. There are two households that have not cashed. From April to may, in cooperation with the Tingzikou Reservoir construction project, Sichuan Institute of cultural relics and Archaeology excavated 68 cliff tombs in Wenxi Township, Jiange county. The tombs are mainly distributed on the West Bank of Wenxi River, with 57 tombs densely distributed from northwest to southeast on the rock mass of more than 400 meters, two rows scattered in some places in the middle, and 11 tombs scattered on the East Bank of Wenxi river. according to the shape of the tombs and the characteristics of the objects, the tombs can be divided into two periods: Eastern Han Dynasty and Six Dynasties: Eastern Han Dynasty: 53 tombs are distributed in the middle and North sections of the West Bank and the east bank. Generally, it is composed of tomb passage, corridor, main chamber, coffin bed, niche, stove, etc., all of which are single chamber; the top of the tomb is divided into arc roof and dome; there is no decoration in the tomb; the main chamber of the tomb is in a straight line with the corridor and the grave passage, with coffin bed, stove and other ancillary facilities on both sides of the main chamber; some niches are chiseled at the back, left and right sides of the tomb; drainage ditches are generally chiseled in the middle of the tomb passage, extending to the outside of the rock. The bottom of the tomb is generally high in the back and low in the front, which is convenient for drainage and has a regular and symmetrical shape. pottery was the main burial objects, and iron and bronze ware were also found. There are two main types of pottery: domestic ware and pottery figurines. Domestic utensils include pots, bowls, plates, steamers, cauldrons, pots, etc.; pottery figurines include figures, music figurines, poultry and livestock figurines, etc. The bronzes include five baht coins, cauldrons, mirrors, cargo springs, crossbows, etc. Iron ware is mainly knives, swords, but also living utensils. The tombs of this period are represented by M15: rectangular passage, about 1.06M long, 1.6m wide and 0-1.1m high; rectangular passage, about 2.2m deep, 1.04M wide and 1.06m-1.3m high. There is a drainage ditch in the front of the corridor, which extends and runs through the tomb passage. It is about 1.76 meters long and 0.1-0.16 meters wide. The tomb is rectangular, 3.16 meters deep and 2.84 meters wide; the arc top is 1.3-2.16 meters high; the tomb is 0.1 meters higher than the corridor. Six Dynasties period: a total of 15. It is small in shape and 1.2m-3.6m in length. It is composed of tomb passage, tomb gate, corridor, tomb chamber and coffin bed. Generally, the coffin bed with a height of about 0.1 meters is chiseled out from the original rock on one side of the tomb. The coffin bed is generally rectangular, and a small amount is trapezoidal. The bottom of the tomb is high in the back and low in the front, which is convenient for drainage. Most of the funerary objects were not found, only a few tombs had funerary objects. It is mainly pottery pots, and other ornaments such as copper bracelets and glassware are also found. the tomb of this period is represented by M9: the tomb passage is approximately rectangular, about 0.4-0.46 meters long, about 1.18 meters wide, and about 0.08-0.66 meters high; the rectangular corridor is about 0.76 meters long, about 0.66 meters wide, and about 0.66 meters high. The main chamber vertical cave is about 2.44 meters long and 0.66 meters wide, and the arc top gradually recedes to the back of the tomb, with a height of about 0-0.64 meters. The tomb is 0.1M higher than the corridor. the whole cemetery is arranged in order, with two rows crossing in the middle, rarely broken. Most of the tombs were damaged and some collapsed seriously, but a large number of funerary objects were still unearthed. It is the largest number of cliff tombs excavated at one time in Guangyuan area, which provides rich material materials for the study of Sichuan cliff tombs.
