Hongguo Yi nationality township

Hongguo Yi nationality township is a township administrative unit under the jurisdiction of Yanbian County, Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province. In August 2005, the administrative division of Yanbian county was adjusted, and the original Hongmin Yi Township, huajiaoqing Yi Township and Hongni Township were abolished. It was merged into the administrative area of Santan village and haozhiping community, a new ethnic township based on coal industry. Hongguo Yi nationality township is located in the middle of Yanbian County, Panzhihua City. The world-famous dam project of Ertan Hydropower Station is in the territory. The Bank of Ertan lake is the core area of Ertan scenic spot and Ertan Forest Park, with rich products and beautiful scenery.

Evolution of organizational system

In August 2005, the administrative division of Yanbian county was adjusted, and the original Hongmin Yi Township, huajiaoqing Yi Township and Hongni Township were abolished. Hongguo Yi nationality township is located in the middle of Yanbian County, Panzhihua City, where the world-famous Ertan Hydropower Station Dam project is located. The township government is now in Hongguo market town, 40 kilometers away from Yanbian county and 75 kilometers away from Panzhihua City.

The township covers an area of 281.67 square kilometers. Along the Bank of Ertan lake, it is the core area of Ertan scenic spot and Ertan Forest Park, with rich products and beautiful scenery. It is adjacent to Tongzilin Town, Yumen town and Fuyu Township, and Tongren town is adjacent to Wuben Township, Tongde town and Deshi town of Miyi County.

By the end of 2010, the population of the township was 13140, with 5213 ethnic minorities, accounting for 39.7%. It is a mixed ethnic township of Han, Yi and Lisu. There are 254 rural Party members in the township. the total population is 13040 (2017).

Hongguo Yi nationality township is an important coal industrial town in Yanbian County, with proven coal reserves of 194 million tons, 16 coal mining enterprises and 27 mines. Relying on industry, the tertiary industry with transportation and mine services is developed. In 2010, the total industrial output value exceeded 1 billion yuan for the first time, reaching 1.008 billion yuan, and the GDP reached 523.93 million yuan. The per capita net income of farmers reached 5403 yuan. Hongguo township has carried out large-scale industrial restructuring on the basis of traditional breeding industry, and has basically formed a development pattern of high-value and high-quality featured industries with high-quality walnut, high-end aquaculture, fine flue-cured tobacco, special pig and late maturing mango as the main products. By the end of December 5, the planting area of walnut will be more than 40000 mu, the area of flue-cured tobacco will reach 10000 mu, and the area of late maturing mango along the coast of Ertan Reservoir area will reach 5000 mu. On the basis of the existing 27150 square meters, net cage will take the road of high-end breeding. Hongguo township is rich in tourism resources, which are being protected and developed according to the plan.
