Youai town

Youai town is located in Pidu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, close to the northwest of Pidu District, Chengdu City. It is a traditional Dujiangyan irrigation area and the hometown of Yangxiong in the Western Han Dynasty. With an area of 46.3 square kilometers, Youai town has 29 administrative villages, 2 neighborhood committees and a population of 37988 (2017).

Youai town is located in the circular eco-tourism belt of Chengdu City, 2km away from Pidu District in the East, 16km away from Chengdu City and 28km away from Shuangliu International Airport. Chengguan expressway, Wenjiang Pengzhou Expressway and Pihua highway run through the whole area. Benefited by the Dujiangyan water conservancy project, the town passes through the Ma River and Jiang'an river.

Youai town belongs to subtropical humid climate zone, with annual average temperature of 200C and annual precipitation of 1300 mm. There is no severe heat in summer, rainy in autumn and no severe cold in winter. The main wind direction is northwest wind.

Resource specialty

Youai town is rich in mineral resources, water conservancy, forestry, medicinal materials resources, including coal resources. There are three rivers running through the whole territory. There are abundant water resources. There are fengmingqiao cascade power station and Tiantaishan power station in Tongji Town. There are more than ten thousand mu of forest land in Tongji Town. Pengzhou state-owned forest farm is located in the territory. The annual timber harvest can reach more than ten thousand cubic meters. Youai town is also the edible fungus production base of Pengzhou City, including edible fungus, Agaricus, Agaricus blazei, Xiangru, jinzhenru, etc. There are also rich "three wood" medicinal materials, snow mountain soybean, potato, cucumber, fern moss, yellow flower, bamboo and other local specialties.

Youai town is the intersection of Pengbai highway and Xiaofu highway, which leads to Longmen Grand Canyon (Yinchanggou) and Bailu forest park. This large area, including Tongji Town's rich tourism and leisure resources, belongs to the scope of National Geopark. There is also the only narrow gauge railway in China, Pengbai railway, which can be used for both sightseeing and freight transportation.
