Xipu Street

Xipu street is located in the east of Pidu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, adjacent to Jinniu District and high tech West District of Chengdu City, and in the heart of Tianfu. Xipu street belongs to the "medium quality" area in the downtown area of Chengdu, which is recognized as the "back garden" and university city of Chengdu by the public. Xipu officially got its name from Li Bing's water control. "Li Bing, the governor of Shu, made five stones and sank them in the water to suppress the monsters, because he took the name of it.". Pu means waterfront, so it is called Xipu, which has been used for more than 2000 years. Xipu sub district office is located at 142 Guoning West Road, Chengdu.

According to the records of Yuanfeng jiuyu, Xipu county was established in 686 ad, and then entered PI in 1072 ad. the ancient Xipu county was established for 386 years. During the founding of the county, Du Fu lived in the thatched cottage in Xipu for several years. In his poem Meiyu, he once described the scenery of Xipu as follows: "Xipu road in Nanjing, Huangmei ripe in April.". There were many ancient buildings in Xipu, such as Guoning temple, Dongyue Temple, Wenchang palace, Huguang hall, Nanhua palace, Zitong palace, etc.
