At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Shiyang Dabao town was established as Huayang county. It was named Shiyang Township in 1937 and shiyangchang Township in 1982. In 1997, with an area of 18.6 square kilometers and a population of 36000, Chengdu Xinjiang high-grade highway, Airport Road, Wuhou Avenue, Chengdu Kunming railway and the west ring line of Chengdu Railway crossed the border.
