Keda Township

Keda Township, subordinate to Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the east of Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, bordering zanguo township of Longshan County in Hunan Province in the East, Youhui town in the southwest, Daxi town and Guitang town of Longshan County in Hunan Province in the north, 117 km away from the government of Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, with a total area of 107 square kilometers.

In the late Qing Dynasty, Keda township was divided into four townships along the East Road; in August 2001, Keda Township, Shatan Township and Xinxi Township were merged into Keda township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of the township was 17674. As of June 2020, Keda township has 8 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the Township People's government is stationed in Keda village.

The main food crops in Keda township are rice and corn; the main animal husbandry is raising goats, pigs and cattle. In 2018, kedaxiang has 4 industrial enterprises and 12 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

History of construction

In the late Qing Dynasty, it was the four townships of Donglu.

In 1924, Keda township was established.

In October 1950, Keda Township became a famous village.

In 1951, Baoming village was divided into three townships: Keda, Shatan and Xinxi.

In 1954, some areas of Keda and Shatan were set aside for the establishment of turtle dove village.

In December 1955, the turtle dove village was abandoned and entered into Keda and Shatan villages respectively.

In July 1958, Keda, Shatan and Xinxi were merged to form Keda commune.

In July 1961, Keda commune was divided into three communes: Keda commune, Shatan commune and Xinxi commune.

In August 2001, Keda Township, Shatan Township and Xinxi Township were merged into Keda township.
