Longmen Street

Longmenhao street, belonging to Nan'an District of Chongqing, is located in the middle of Nan'an District. It is adjacent to Nanshan street in the East, haitangxi street in the south, Yangtze River in the west, wanglongmen street in Yuzhong District across the river, and Tushan town in the north, with a total area of 1.47 square kilometers.

During the Qing Dynasty, Longmen township was set up along Longmen Hao street; in August 1981, Daqing street was renamed Longmen Hao street. At the end of 2011, the total population of Longmen Hao street was 35403. As of June 2020, Longmen Hao street has five communities under its jurisdiction, and its sub district office is located at 33 Shangxin street.

History of construction

In the Qing Dynasty, Longmen township was set up.

In 1932, it was officially included in Chongqing 13 square. In 1935, the fourth district was set up, and in the second half of the year, it was changed to the Sixth District. In 1941, it was changed into the office of the 11th district, with the upper and lower Longmen haozhen.

In October 1954, Shanghao street and xiahao street were established in Longmen Hao area.

In September 1958, Shanghao and xiahao streets merged to form Longmen Hao street.

In March 1960, it was changed into shangxinjie commune.

In September 1962, it was changed into Shangxin street.

In October 1968, Xinjie street was changed into Daqing street.

In August 1981, Daqing street was renamed Longmen Hao street.

History and culture

During the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1131-1162), the word "Longmen" was engraved on the two columns of stone beams along the Yangtze River. In the Qing Dynasty, when Wang Erjian compiled Ba county annals, he included "Longmen Haoyue" in the twelve sceneries of Cuba and Chongqing, hence the name of Longmen Haoyue street.
