Wupo town
Wupo Town, subordinate to Tunchang County, Hainan Province, is located in the south of Tunchang County, bordering Shibi town of Qionghai City in the East, Zhongping town of Qiongzhong County in the south, Fengmu town in the West and Nanlu town in the north. The administrative area of the town is 78.98 square kilometers.
In 1957, Wupo township was established. In 1958, it belonged to Nanlu commune. In December 1983, it was changed to Wupo district. In March 1987, the district was withdrawn and a township was built, known as Wupo town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the town was 22386. As of June 2020, Wupo town has jurisdiction over 1 community and 11 administrative villages, and its people's government is located at No. 4, new northeast street, wupoxu.

Historical evolution
In the late Qing Dynasty, Wupo area was called luyitu, belonging to Nanlidu, Nanxiang, Ding'an County.
From 1928 to 1945, Wupo township was established, belonging to eight districts (later changed to nine districts) of Ding'an County.
In 1946, it belonged to four districts of Ding'an County.
In 1948, it was returned to Qiongzhong County.
In February 1949, it belonged to Dingxi special region.
In 1953, it belonged to four districts of Tunchang County.
At the end of 1956, Dapo in Dapo Township and yampo, Shuiqu, Mashui, Niuchang in Nandong Township were assigned to Qiongzhong County.
In 1957, Wupo township was established.
In 1958, it belonged to Nanlu commune.
